Join Slate Studio, Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls & General Assembly as we bring together girls & women from local high schools & colleges and global media & technology companies for a day of inspiring discussions with women at the forefront of technology, entertainment & media.
At this event, you’ll hear from a range of smart, influential women and girls who are directing innovative start-ups, leading global organizations, and making a mark in their local high-schools. You’ll learn about how they have built their careers, the projects they’re engaged with, and their personal / professional successes (and failures). In addition, you’ll hear valuable industry insights and predictions for the future of tech, entertainment and media.
Speaking organizations include 20th Century Fox, Theranos, United Talent Agency, Raytheon, Boston Consulting Group, Variety, Sundance, Beautycon, and many more

Southern California is quickly becoming the new technology hub for the United States. Slate Studio has organized the event in response to its desire to see more women in influential roles within technology & new media organizations in the Los Angeles and Southern California region. Slate Studio is honored to have the partnership & participation of Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls, General Assembly, and over two dozen technology & new media organizations, ranging from startups to global Fortune 50 companies, each of whom share the same goal: inspiring girls and young women to be the technology leaders of tomorrow.
Media outlets that are interested in promoting the role of women in prominent positions within technology and new media organizations are encouraged attend. Interviews will be granted by panelists and participating organizations.
