Cleveland, Ohio (JANUARY 13, 2016) – The Orange Effect Foundation is pleased to announce today that it has awarded grants to fund speech therapy services and technology to two very well-deserving children with speech disorders.
One recipient, age four, is now able to receive an appropriate level of speech therapy services, increasing from twice monthly to twice weekly. This will greatly help him build and strengthen his expressive language skills so that he may consistently and effectively get his needs met and improve his social interaction with adults and peers.
The fourteen-year old recipient received funds to pay for a speech-generating device used to communicate daily wants and needs, and also to interact and socialize with friends and family.
“We’re excited to be able to get these funds to deserving families like these as quickly as we can,” explains Joe Pulizzi, founder, Orange Effect Foundation. “Not only that, we will continue to follow up with each family to make sure they are getting the help they need.”
The Orange Effect Foundation empowers children and young adults with speech disorders to effectively communicate through therapy, education, research, and technology resources. The Orange Effect Foundation awards quarterly grants through a competitive application and review process. The next grant application deadline is March 1, 2016.
