Plaza Hotel & Casino Continues Partnership with Cardiac Science and Selects Powerheart® G5 AEDs
WAUKESHA, Wis., May 11, 2016 — The Plaza Hotel & Casino, located in downtown Las Vegas, has added Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to its AED program, continuing a commitment to enable both employees and guests to quickly respond to a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) incident with potentially life-saving AEDs.
“The Plaza Hotel & Casino welcomes thousands of guests each day and safety is our priority,” said Dennis Lindenbach, Risk and Safety Manager for the Plaza.
“The advanced technology that Cardiac Science has patented was the big factor for us in choosing the Powerheart G5. RescueCoach™ user-paced prompting and Rescue Ready® reliability were two such technologies. The Powerheart G5’s CPR coaching feature was also superior,” Dennis Lindenbach said. “It can be used in loud environments — if you can’t hear the prompts, you can see them as text on the backlit display.”
The Las Vegas casino industry has led the U.S. hospitality sector in both deployment of AEDs and training their staff to use AEDs. According to Dennis Lindenbach, a casino is the best place to be if you experience SCA.
“We are delighted that the Plaza has chosen our Powerheart G5 units,” said Al Ford, President of Cardiac Science. “The hospitality sector has saved many lives by equipping properties with AEDs, and the Las Vegas casino industry has been at the forefront of recognizing the value of AEDs and training their staff to properly use them.”
