Parker & Sons- Supports Energy Efficient Appliances to Save Money

By Sarah

Parker & Sons has been one of Arizona’s oldest and most highly esteemed plumbing, HVAC, and electrical service providers in the area. Jack “Grandpa” Parker established the company just over forty years ago, and his original mission has stayed the same and has stayed true, even after his passing. With a commitment to customer service and satisfaction, Parker & Sons has made it one of their top priorities to inform not only their customers, but the entire public, about the different ways that they can reduce their overall energy consumption. Not only do their tips save money, but is part of their larger commitment to adapt to environmentally friendly technologies and living.

“Many people do not realize how much money and energy they can actually save if they purchase energy efficient appliances,” said Parker & Sons representative, Justine Kelly. “Even though buying new appliances can be costly for some homeowners, they end up saving more money in the long term by making these kinds of short term investments into Energy Star appliances.”

Energy Star, which is an official federal program created by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is dedicated to letting consumers know how much energy and electricity they can be saving by switching to their qualified, verified, and tested products.

All home appliances that receive an Energy Star rating use anywhere between 10% to 50% less energy than their counterparts without the rating.

“We get a lot of people expressing their concerns about how much they have to spend to operate necessary appliances such as refrigerators,” said Justine Kelly. “While no one at Parker & Sons is a sales representative for specific companies, we always suggest to choose Energy Star approved appliances. Even refrigerators with this rating use something like 40% less energy than refrigerators without this rating. It really is more cost and energy efficient in the long run.”

When it comes to refrigerators in particular, Justine Kelly mentioned that leaving a small space in between your refrigerator and the wall can help to prolong the life of your refrigerator by letting the air that circulates throughout the house or apartment to assist in naturally keeping the coils clean and intact.
