Parker & Sons, one of Phoenix’s most highly esteemed and well-known HVAC, electrical, and plumbing service providers has made it one of their priorities to commit themselves to bettering the community for all people. While the company has grown over the last forty years to include a wide variety of services, as well as offer a number of products, they also provide insightful information for homeowners and renters, alike.
For the month of February, Parker & Sons has made an effort to inform Phoenix residents on how they can improve the air quality in their homes throughout the area’s allergy season.
“Air quality is equally as important as having a functioning HVAC unit in many ways,” said Parker & Sons representative Justine Kelly. “Parker & Sons might be a service provider, but our mission goes much further than that. We want people to know how they can improve their homes… and there are many ways to do that if people became aware of the things they need to do.”
One of the ways that Justine mentioned regarding how people can improve the air quality in their homes is to be cognoscente of when they change their air filters. For the absolute best quality of air, filters should be changed every one to two months. This is especially important for people who suffer from allergies and asthma.
Another way that people can improve the air quality in their homes, especially if they do not suffer from allergies or asthma, is to open their windows and doors to allow natural ventilation. This is because all HVAC units, regardless of make and model, do not circulate fresh air throughout the house. Rather, the units themselves actually circulate the air that is already present. In effect, opening doors and windows will allow for the unit to circulate fresh air throughout the home and will increase the outdoor ventilation rate.
Additionally, homeowners will find their indoor air quality improved if they use overhead fans and ventilation systems when they are doing activities such as cooking, which emit fumes if your stove is gas powered.
While there are many ways to improve the air quality in your home, these were some of the most simple, easy ways that Kelly mentioned to better manage and improve air quality.
