Health Net Connect Provides Virtual Care Technology to Help M.E.R.C.I’s (Medical Emergency Relief for Christian Iraqis) Humanitarian Efforts
Wixom, Michigan: Health Net Connect is providing its virtual care technology to help support M.E.R.C.I’s efforts in four cities in Iraq where there are large concentrations of Christian refugees. “By utilizing our technology, refugees will have access to medical care virtually from providers across the globe,” said Stephen Shaya, M.D., EVP of J & B and HNC, who recently spoke at a M.E.R.C.I event. He also quoted Mother Teresa. “There are no great things, only small things with great love.”
CAAHP is a nonprofit and nonpolitical educational organization which was founded in 1999 to support Chaldean health care providers. Made up of physicians, pharmacists, dentists, nurses, and other allied health professionals of Chaldean descent, the CAAHP serves as a professional forum offering education, networking, and community service opportunities. With the blessing of the Catholic Church and Bishop Francis, the Chaldean American Association for Health Professionals (“CAAHP”) has formed the Medical Emergency Relief for Christian Iraqis (“M.E.R.C.I.”) committee. The mission of this committee is to provide emergency medical services and supplies to persecuted and displaced Iraqi Christians.
