WESTCHESTER, Ill., Jan. 12, 2016 – College students seeking a hassle-free path to the right course materials at the best price will find it at their local Follett-managed bookstore. In addition to traditional savings from used textbooks, students can take advantage of savings from text rental and price matching at more than 1,200 college bookstores—and online at more than 1,700 bookstore websites—operated by Follett across North America.
Last fall term alone Follett’s textbook rental program saved students $100 million, bringing total student savings to more than $1 billion over the past five years. Follett campus bookstores are now offering rental textbooks with discounts of up to 80 percent compared to purchasing new. In addition to the deep discounts, students also appreciate Follett’s risk-free book renter policies that allow highlighting, note taking and even converting the book rental to a purchase should the student decide to keep the textbook.
To further drive down costs, Follett has expanded its price matching program to all stores within the Follett-managed campus bookstore network. If students find their purchased course material advertised at a lower price from a competing retailer, they are eligible to receive the difference in price from the local Follett bookstore. This ensures students get their materials at the best price possible and allows them to apply price match funds to supplies or other needed materials.
“Our goal is simple; enable students to get everything they need for success in the classroom. We’re already offering the largest inventory of used books in the industry and a huge rental library. The price match program is Follett’s next step in our savings and access commitment to students,” said Don Germano, President of Follett Higher Education Group.
