MINNEAPOLIS, December 4, 2015 – People all over the world, including Americans, are being asked to subscribe to the Human Creed by Favorfloat, a Minneapolis-based, socially responsible organization. “The terrorist commits suicide and kills others with him… The gunman goes into a school and kills little children in the classroom… Before human beings commit any kind of inhumane acts to one another, if we can just STOP for a second to think before we do harm—this is someone’s child, someone’s mother or father, a brother or sister to someone, this is a human being, this is a person that is loved and depended on by their family—then many would stop and not proceed with harm,” said Philip Jegede, Chairman of Favorfloat.
Favorfloat is firmly convinced that if we see each other as human beings, equal to ourselves in birth, relationships, and in faith, this will ‘humanize’ people, compelling us to show human compassion, rather than hatred and violence. “To save a mother from grief, a father from a broken heart, a sister from depression, a brother from tears, and a nation from yet another time of mourning, each one of us must do own part by reminding ourselves who we are on a daily basis—a human being.” Jegede further stated.
Favofloat believes that while we wake up every day and do the usual things in our lives, we can become like robots and surrender our thoughts to irrational and selfish feelings – a way of life that can depart from wisdom, and, for some, can lead to being consumed by hatred and a propensity for self and societal destruction.
