HERNDON, VA, December 18, 2015 – Apex CoVantage, a leading provider of technology-led solutions, raised $52,000 in a matter of two days to provide relief to families who lost their homes in and around Chennai, India during the devastating flooding this month.
Apex employees rallied to support their affected colleagues along with the Apex Foundation, the private, non-profit arm of Apex CoVantage. A portion of the proceeds went directly to 28 Apex employees who lost their homes and belongings in the flood. The remainder went toward materials to create 1,500 survival kits containing rice, sugar, salt, clothing, and other essentials to help local victims get back on their feet.
“The damage to the city is simply staggering. We felt compelled to do our part not only to help our employees, but other local families as well,” said Pardha Karamsetty, CEO of Apex CoVantage India. “The Apex Foundation was created to provide aid in situations like these. Giving our time and money was the right thing to do.”
In addition to monetary support, 30 employees from Apex’s Chennai office, led by Apex CoVantage, India COO Raja Deiveegan and Assistant General Manager Rajalakshmi Subburaj, volunteered for 48 straight hours procuring materials and packing kits for distribution 130 miles away in Kuchipalayam, Cuddalore, one of the more remote areas hit hardest by flooding.
“We appreciate the generosity of our employees across the globe, and we are forever grateful to our volunteers in India who worked tirelessly to bring relief to the people of Kuchipalayam so they can begin the difficult task of rebuilding their homes and families,” said Karamsetty.
