All-In-One Retro Gaming Console Debuts on Kickstarter

The gaming device will allow users to play their favorite video games from retro consoles, including Amiga CD32, Sony PlayStation, Sega Saturn and more.

Duisburg, Jan. 8, 2016—ARES Computer Inh. Pascal Papara has created a Kickstarter to introduce its new all-in-one retro gaming console. The indieGO! allows users to play video games from a variety of devices and includes an app store for gamers to download the latest games available.

“We wanted to create something that would allow gamers to play nostalgic videos games of the past,” said Pascal Papara, CEO of ARES Computer inh. “It doesn’t matter what gaming system you grew up playing, the IndieGo! supports a wide variety of consoles and will allow users to upload their favorite video games.”

There are currently two different versions of the console. The indieGo! Raspberry Pi 2 edition starts at 149€ and features a Cortex A7 processer with 1gb LPDDR2 memory. The indieGO! Odroid XU4 edition starts at 199€ and features a Cortex A15 + Cortex A7 processors with 2gb LPDDR3 memory. Both systems include a DVD-RW drive, SD-card reader and USB joypad.

The consoles also feature a three-in-one multiboot operating system, allowing users to choose between the indieGo!-OS, AEROS OS and Android OS.

“It was important for us to create a gaming console that would fit a variety of gamer needs,” said Papara. “The system is very customizable. We’ve kept it open so users can modify and play games from all available sources.”

Like most Kickstarter projects, ARES Computer inh. is offering a number of rewards for backers depending on how much they pledge to contribute. Examples of these rewards include:

10€ or more—receive an indieGO! coffee mug.
20€ or more—receive a USB adapter to use an original SNES joypad.
32€ or more—receive Tales of Gorluth II for Amiga CDROM
39€ or more—receive a USB adaptor to use original CD32 or Sega Genesis joypad.
149€ or more—receive the indieGO! Raspberry Pi 2 console.
199€ or more—receive the indieGO! Odroid XU4 console.
