Williamsburg, VA and Frederick, MD: (April 4, 2017) Newport Hospitality Group Inc., (NHG) a leading hotel management company, proudly announces the Hilton Garden Inn Frederick (HGI Frederick) has been recognized with five awards at the Maryland Hotel and Lodging Association (MHLA) 28th Annual Stars of the Industry Awards Luncheon.
The prestigious Stars of the Industry awards program celebrates outstanding accomplishments in the lodging industry, honoring lodging employees and properties that best symbolize the quality of industry.
78 individuals and 14 hotels were named as nominees at the Awards Luncheon on February 7, 2017. Winners were announced in 14 different categories and presented with a plaque at the luncheon. MHLA winners who are eligible for the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s awards program will be submitted as the state of Maryland’s nominees at the national level. AH&LA winners will be awarded on May 17, 2017 in Washington, D.C.
The HGI Frederick was recognized as the Guest Relations, Property/Company winner. In addition four of its employees were acknowledged with individual nominations for their superior performance, including:
- Room Keeper of the Year (Div. 1): Anna Martinez
- Guest Services Employee of the Year (Div. 1): Tricia Decker
- Food & Beverage Employee of the Year (Div. 1): Robert Chaney
- Stevan Porter Emerging Leader (Div. 1): Mathew Fields
