Parker & Sons- Cutting your AC Bill Down

By Sarah

With the weather starting to warm up, Parker & Sons wants to lower your monthly bill. The HVAC, electrical, and plumbing service providing giant has time and time again dominated the Phoenix area with their high quality, professional services, as well as their commitment to unwavering customer service.

Keeping the spirit of their mission alive, Parker & Sons makes an effort to inform and educate many people about the various ways that they can save energy, save money, let them know about some of the newest and latest technologies around, and much more. Seeing as spring in Phoenix is generally much hotter than spring in other parts of the country, Parker & Sons representative Justine Kelly has provided some useful tips and insights as to how everyone can become more efficient by reducing their energy consumption when the weather warms up.

The first tip of many is to make the change from other types of fabric materials to cotton. By using cotton sheets, you will find that you will sleep much more comfortably without having to turn the air conditioning on all of the way. If you prefer materials like linen, that is fine too. What is important is that to cool yourself naturally in the summer, you will want to choose lightweight, light colored, breathable materials.

You can also do things like position your fans strategically in order to have a natural cross breeze enter the room. To do this, you will need a single standing fan (or more than one), and position the fan against an open window. Not only will this help with indoor air quality and natural ventilation, but it will save money on your air conditioning bill if you can cross ventilate a room with an additional fan. It is important to use a single stand-alone fan in this case because the one attached to your ceiling will not have enough power to draw the air from outside into the room.

It is also suggested that you turn your thermostat up a few degrees before you leave your house for an extended period of time, such as going to work for a full day. Since no one will be in your home, there is no need to keep your air conditioning running while you’re away.
