To do this, you will need a single standing fan (or more than one), and position the fan against an open window. Not only will this help with indoor air quality and natural ventilation, but it will save money on your air conditioning bill if you can cross ventilate a room with an additional fan. It is important to use a single stand-alone fan in this case because the one attached to your ceiling will not have enough power to draw the air from outside into the room.
It is also suggested that you turn your thermostat up a few degrees before you leave your house for an extended period of time, such as going to work for a full day. Since no one will be in your home, there is no need to keep your air conditioning running while you’re away.
