Parker & Sons- Reducing Energy in your Home

By Sarah

Parker & Sons is known for much more than just their HVAC, electrical, and plumbing services. They are also known for their commitment to the larger community of Phoenix residents, who they have been serving for just around forty years in total. If you go on the Parker & Sons  website, you will quickly learn that it is a treasure chest full of useful information not only on the   company itself, their history, the products they offer and the range of services they provide, but     also a breadth of articles with useful information and tips.
However, Parker & Sons also takes it upon themselves to go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to assisting the public. “In a world that is dominated by technology and energy, it can be useful for families and individuals who find themselves bogged down by electric bills to save money wherever they can,” said Justine Kelly, a Parker & Sons representative.
One of the most effective ways that people can cut down on their energy consumption is to simply turn their lights off when they do not need them! But you do not need to constantly turn your lights on and off every time you step out of the room. Kelly suggests using her method for saving energy when it comes to turning the lights on and off. In effect, Kelly suggests that if you will leave one room for ten minutes or less, keep the lights on. On the other hand, if you will be out of one particular room for longer than ten minutes at a time, keep the lights off. This is just one easy way to cut down your energy bill, and potentially extend the life of your lightbulbs.
Additionally, something that is extremely overlooked is leaving things like chargers or other plugs in the wall when they are not in use. Contrary to popular belief, some of the plugs you might be using could be eating up small amounts of electricity throughout the day, even if you aren’t charging anything! So whenever you leave the house or no longer need to charge your items, unplug your chargers to save yourself just that much more money!
