SCRAP, the world’s original creative reuse depot, is celebrating its 40th anniversary with two exciting and fun events: SCRAP40, a gala party, and RECLAIMED: elevating the art of reuse, a juried show of art made from reused materials. Both will take place in October.
SCRAP40, a “fancy, yet casual” mixer will include luminaries, artists, educators, and other SCRAP supporters. At the beautifully restored Bayview Opera House, attendees will enjoy great music, fine wines and food, and interactive demonstrations of art and crafts made from reused materials. The evening will be punctuated with brief presentations by authorities on reuse, the environment, creativity, and education. The celebration will climax with a ceremony recognizing SCRAP’s visionary founder, Anne Marie Theilen, and others who have kept SCRAP vibrant and essential for four decades.
Celebrate SCRAP’s history and help SCRAP prepare for the future by attending SCRAP40.
And don’t miss RECLAIMED: elevating the art of reuse, at the beautiful San Francisco Arts Education Project at the Minnesota Street Project in San Francisco. The opening for this compelling, juried art show will be October 8th. There is no cost to attend. Entries are accepted until September 6. More info and entry form at scrapartshow.org.
