ZEV Electric has 13 models of electric motorcycles and scooters that qualify for the 10% Federal Tax credit for plug in 2 wheelers. The tax credit was included in the “last minute” tax extenders bill approved by Congress December 18 and signed into law by President Obama.
The bill includes the following:
The tax credit covers 10 percent of the purchase price, up to $2,500 maximum, and applies only to vehicles capable of over 45 mph and with a 4 kilowatt-hour or larger battery pack.
All ZEV from the 6000L and larger bikes all qualify for the incentive covering 13 models of ZEV.
These tax credits are retroactive and apply to all electric motor scooter/cycles purchased in 2015. All new ZEV models purchased in 2015 or 2016 are eligible for the tax credits.
The 13 models of ZEV extend from:
The 60 mph, $4575 ZEV 6000L
through the 84 mph, 140 mile on a charge ZEV LRC ,
and the new ZEV Electric M-13-S motorcycle that is launching in the first quarter of 2016.
NOTE –The tax credit EXPIRES at the end of 2016. The previous tax credit incentive expired at the end of 2013. Motorcycle and scooter lovers have one year to use the new tax credit to their advantage.
