Third-party logistics (3PL) specialist, syncreon, announced today that it will increase the scale and scope of its operations in Mexico in early 2016 and plans to continue focused growth there in the near term. Jim Barnett, syncreon’s President in North and South America stated, “Our expansion further into Mexico is part of the company’s North American growth strategy and we will continue our investment in facilities and personnel to support our plans to build a significant presence in Mexico. Our ongoing quality initiatives and best-practice tools enable us to meet high operating standards, at every global location, from the start.”
syncreon Toluca, Mexico is a new 26,384 m2 (284,000 ft2) facility which will provide inbound logistic services for a North American based global Automotive OEM. syncreon will perform receiving operations, bulk metering, small lot metering, repacking operations, and provide shuttle transportation. syncreon was awarded the 5-year contract based in part on their strong performance record at existing facilities for the customer in Canada and United States. syncreon Toluca is scheduled to start production operations in May, 2016.
syncreon Puebla (San Jose Chiapa), Mexico is a new 31,000 m2 (333,681 ft2) export consolidation center which will provide complete-knock-down (CKD) and semi-knock-down (SKD) services for a European based global Automotive OEM. Additional services include parts warehousing, inventory management, and packing operations. Although syncreon has worked with the OEM customer since 2000 from syncreon facilities in Germany and Hungary, the San Jose Chiapa operation extends the relationship into North America. The selection criteria for award of this export packing contract included the ability to perform with demonstrated consistent high quality, capability to meet operational demands, and successful results of a rigorous technical review. syncreon Puebla (San Jose Chiapa) is scheduled to start production operations in May, 2016.
syncreon Cuidad Juarez, Mexico is an existing Reverse Logistics Center, in operation since 2008. Here, syncreon serves multiple High Tech clients and operates in conjunction with a neighboring syncreon facility in El Paso, Texas. Together, the two syncreon locations support North American aftermarket logistics needs for several technology customers. The scope of services provided at syncreon’ Cuidad Juarez location include the electronic and mechanical repair and refurbishment of scanners, printers, and LCD displays.
