For most of the world, February 14th is known as Valentine’s day. Hastings & Hastings, Arizona’s Premier Discount Accident Lawyers, notes that February 14th is special for a second major reason, it is Arizonan’s Birthday. Hastings & Hastings takes this opportunity to sincerely wish Arizona a happy birthday and reflect on the many reasons it is such an incredible and unique state.
Arizona officially became the 48th state in the Union on February 14th, 1912. Before it officially gained statehood, the region now known as Arizona was a territory of New Mexico. This year marks the beginning of Arizona’s 105th year as a state. Arizona is the 6th largest state in America, measuring in at 114,000 square miles. It is more than double the size of 13 other states.
Hastings & Hastings notes that Arizona became widely known for its so-called Five Cs of copper, cattle, citrus, climate, and cotton. Hastings & Hastings further notes that these 5 natural resources contributed to Arizona become the great state it is today. Its unique climate is unlike any other in the world. In Arizona, cattle, citrus, and cotton thrived. Arizona has longer been one of the nation’s leaders in copper production. In 2007 alone, Arizona produced 750,000 tons of copper valued at approximately $5.54 billion.
In further celebration of Arizona’s birthday, Hastings & Hastings calls attention to a few of Arizona’s incredible natural features. Arizona is home to the Grand Canyon, one of the eight natural wonders of the world. Every year millions of tourists make the pilgrimage to the world’s deepest and most majestic canyon. There they hike, take pictures, and appreciate the canyon’s incredible beauty. Arizona is also home to the iconic Horseshoe Bend of the Colorado River. This is one of the most photographed stretches of river in the country. Finally, Hastings & Hastings calls attention to the red rocks of Sedona. The incredibly colored peaks, valleys and plateaus are world renowned.
“Practicing law in such an incredible state truly is an honor. We are so proud to have the opportunity to wish our amazing state a happy birthday. Arizona is our home here at Hastings & Hastings. There is no other place in the world we would rather practice,” said David Hastings, the founder of Hastings & Hastings.
